Parents & Teachers Association (PTA)

The PTA is a group of parents of Cheeky Monkeys children who meet together monthly to discuss up and coming events, raising money for school and helping teaching staff with performance preparation (sourcing equipment, costumes and materials). Additionally, parents are welcome to discuss ideas about what they would like to see at Cheeky Monkeys and raising concerns and trouble shooting where appropriate.

In addition to parents representatives, a staff member will attend the meeting to discuss any relevant topics. Management representatives will be attending also either the school director and/or school education coordinator.

PTA roles include; Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary. Chairperson writes meeting’s agenda as the meeting begins. Some agenda items will need previous discussion or prior written information. A treasurer is held by someone with basic accounting skills to help balance the money raised and money spent from any fund-raising held by Cheeky Monkeys.

The secretary position is usually the minute taker and responsible for taking and typing up the minutes. A copy of the minutes can be given to the school admin to distribute among staff and parents.

Some of the previous activities and events that were organized by PTA include; Family fun day in the fun parks, school fairs, end of the year performance and charity purposed activities.
